Abstract
The decline in speech understanding ability in older adults can be caused by the interaction of different factors including: a) peripheral hearing loss, b) cognitive and c) auditory processing deficits. There are currently audiological tests that allow us to demonstrate auditory processing deficits in this population and assist in allowing the processes of selection and hearing aid fitting in both monaural and binaural way.
